Our magnificent building was constructed in the 1880s as the church of St Alban The Martyr. Originally designed for a congregation of 1200, by the 1970s it was declared redundant and was neglected for many years.
A passionate campaign led by local people eventually succeeded in saving it from demolition and in 1995 it became the home of a new community art centre – the Landmark Arts Centre.
We are open every weekday morning for general visitors (times), so why not pop in and discover more about the building.
Our small shop stocks the work of local artists and craftspeople. The featured artists change regularly.

To make your visit to the Landmark complete, for almost all events the Landmark offers a café/bar (details) and, for some events, a pre-show supper (menu in event's listing).
We are an independent charity (key documents and details below) dedicated to maintaining the Landmark as an energetic arts centre and community resource that:
We do not receive any statutory funding towards our core operating costs which is why the support of our local community is so essential and so valued.
Find out how you can support us through sponsorship, personal membership, business membership or volunteering.
