The Landmark Arts Centre is a Grade II* listed building, built in the 1880s as a magnificent gothic style church.

With its soaring scale and striking architectural features, it is a memorable venue:

  • a magical space for wedding ceremonies, wedding receptions or private events
  • an imposing and unusual location for conferences and performances.

We are a licensed venue for wedding ceremonies.

Whether for your wedding ceremony, wedding reception or private event, the character and history of the building will help ensure that you have beautiful memories of your celebration.

We offer dry hall hire at competitive rates giving you the flexibility to choose your own suppliers for your dream event.

The Landmark is an independent charity. Hiring us for your event directly supports our vibrant community arts programme and helps us care for this historic building.

Event Numbers and Availability

Wedding ceremonies and receptions

The venue can comfortably seat up to 240 guests with the stage area an ideal space for conducting the ceremony and for dancing.

Private events

Available for hire throughout the year, the venue can accommodate:

  • up to 240 people for formal dinners,
  • up to 320 people for conferences, and
  • with its magnificent stage setting, an audience of 320 for performances.

Venue Hire for Events – What’s Included

We have a flat rate inclusive fee for venue hire which includes:

  • use of the Landmark building from 11am to midnight on the day of your event
  • set up on the previous afternoon for wedding ceremonies and receptions
  • use of trestle tables for caterers, displays and buffet style receptions
  • use of Landmark black upholstered chairs
  • supervisory and security staff on duty at all times
  • access to the building the following morning for clearing and collections
  • cleaning carried out after the event
  • no corkage charge for alcoholic beverages
  • maximum number of seated guests: 240
  • maximum capacity for wedding ceremonies and receptions at any time: 300 including all suppliers and staff
  • freedom to use the suppliers of your choice
  • no VAT charge
  • Asian celebrations are welcome
  • fully licensed for cash bars, music and dancing
  • a small stand-alone 100 watt PA suitable for speeches.

We are delighted to be a licensed venue for wedding ceremonies.

  • Café / bar: open for most events; check event listing. For our fairs caterer Enjoy! operates the café, serving tasty home-made food as Enjoy!@The Landmark. What's available at the bar / café.

What the building looks like

Travel Options

  • Train: Waterloo to Teddington (approx. 35 minutes), then just over 10 minutes' signposted walk
  • Bus: R68, 281, 285 all stop outside the Centre (‘Teddington Lock’): Stop M across the road, Stop U on the same side, or Stop Y nearby on Kingston Road. Also, 33 via Waldegrave Road, Stop A or Stop B opposite (both ‘Teddington Library’). Bus spider maps.
  • Tube: District line to Richmond and then bus R68 (above)
  • Cycle: on-site parking for up to 12 bicycles
  • Car: no parking on site but free parking in surrounding streets.

How to Book…

  • Online: where indicated.
  • In person: Box Office open… Monday – Friday 9.30am – 5pm …and from 1pm on the day of weekend performances.
  • By post: state the event and number of tickets required, enclose an SAE and cheque payable to ‘Landmark Arts Centre’, and send allcourses or spend them in our shop. to our address.

Please note…

  • Refund & Exchange Policy: no refund of tickets or class bookings will be made unless the event or class is full and we are able to re-sell your ticket/class place, in which case an admin fee of £1 will be deducted from the amount refunded.

  • Concessions: available to LAC Members and others as noted for the event, workshop or class.
