Our Roadmap to Re-opening

13 March 2021

Following the Government roadmap on easing lockdown, The Landmark team is thinking through our own roadmap back.

We issue regular updates, but we plan to reopen our shop and offices from April 12th.

From April 19th we are hoping to re-open the building for our education programme and then from May 17th watch out for some pop up events, before resuming a full range of events from June 21st when we all hope lockdown is fully lifted. However, remember none of this is guaranteed and could change. We’ll keep you posted.

Thanks to the community, some grants from the council and the Government’s Cultural Recovery Fund we can remain financially viable until the end of March 2021. Between April and June, as things stand we will make an operating loss of around £35,000 due to the ongoing restrictions and our concern now is getting through those three months.

So, our need to fundraise to save the centre from the threat of permanent closure continues and if you are able to, please…

Thank you for your support through these turbulent months. We very much appreciate it. Stay well and stay safe and we very much hope to be welcoming you back to the Landmark as soon as we can.

Printmaking Festival this month

A real-life exhibition of prints and artists' books, with demos and workshops, is coming to the centre this end-of-May Bank Holiday weekend! A chance to ease-back into visiting us again, and have a great day out (and tempt yourself with something at the café).

Free, but pre-booking essential (social distancing still needed).

Summer Events

Posted: 12 days ago (29 April 2021)

We are pleased to announce that the Fontanella Quartet will be opening our summer live music programme on Friday 4 June with a family concert in the afternoon and a longer concert in the evening. The Surrey Brass Quintet and Twickenham Choral will also be appearing later that month and in July. Keith James will start July's live events, which will include a celebration of Blues People by Mark Harrison and David Freeman.

We are still finalising details for other events, including some visual arts events.

All the events are subject to any last minute changes in Covid-19 rules. Free events may need to be pre-booked.

The summer programme so far is in the Diary.

Coronavirus and The Landmark

Posted: 17 March 2020

In the light of the Government’s announcement yesterday, the Landmark has decided that we should play our part in fighting the spread of the virus by suspending our activities until further notice. We are seeking to re-arrange as many events and classes as we can for a later date and will publish updates on our website and via social media.

Our team will be contacting affected patrons as quickly as possible, but it will take us time to do so. Please bear with us.

The Landmark is an unsubsidised charity and this unprecedented situation will have a significant financial impact on us. We need your support now more than ever. If you are able to donate £5 please text LACL01 to 70970.

We look forward to welcoming you back at a later date. In the meantime, thank you for your support and understanding at this difficult time. We hope you and your loved ones stay healthy.
