The Acoustic Strawbs

From acoustic to electric and back again is a journey the Strawbs make with consummate musical ease.

The band’s leading light Dave Cousins began his creative career by serving his apprenticeship in the reflective, accomplished world of British traditional folk. Roger McGough and LiTTLe MACHiNe

Poetry and music

Saturday 2 December, 7.30pm

Doors & bar open: 6.45pm

Bar, Supper

Roger McGough’s new show with LiTTLe MACHiNe features a fine selection of vintage, classic & surprising poems set to music. 2017 is a significant year for Roger as he turns 80 and its also 50 years since the publication of the iconic The Mersey Sound by Adrian Henri, Roger McGough and Brian Patten.

Hilarious and surreal, McGough is a poet of many voices. Menace and melancholy there may be, but plenty of his characteristic wit and wordplay too.

President of the Poetry Society, he has been honoured with a CBE for services to literature and the Freedom of the City of Liverpool.

The patron saint of poetry
